Originally priced at $149.99, Amazon's 2018-released Kindle Paperwhite can currently be had for as little as $69.99 in brand-new, unused, unopened, and undamaged condition.
At least in theory, that is, because we wouldn't exactly be shocked if bargain hunters managed to deplete the undoubtedly limited inventory of this awfully generous seller much earlier than the promotion's January 2, 2022 expiration date.
After all, Amazon is currently charging $139.99 and up itself for a Kindle Paperwhite... in a 2021 incarnation. The model available for 50 percent less than that was originally priced at an even higher $149.99... back in 2018, when it broke cover to replace a 2015 edition with limited storage space and no water resistance.
Designed to withstand full-on immersion in addition to the occasional splash of water while being capable of holding"thousands of books" with 8 gigs of local digital hoarding room, the 2018-released Kindle Paperwhite 4 is obviously not quite as impressive as this year's fifth iteration, which sports a large 6.8-inch display and adjustable warm light.
But at $69.99, cash-strapped e-reader enthusiasts are looking at a pretty much irresistible bargain, even with a 90-day rather than a full 1-year warranty included. Curiously enough, these are technically Canadian models you'll be getting at 70 US bucks apiece, but apart from making you choose between English and French as your default language on startup, that shouldn't prove to be an inconvenience in any way, shape, or form.
