KUALA LUMPUR: Tan Sri Abdul Hamid Bador has warned all parties not to involve foreign influence to assist any individual in the ongoing political uncertainty.

The Inspector-General of Police said the King had called on the police and authorities to be vigilant and monitor the situation.

He said there seemed to be talk of someone trying to bring in foreign elements to help certain parties.“I am warning any parties that try to bring in outside elements or have such intentions that if I can identify them, action will be taken, ” he told reporters after meeting with Yang di-Pertuan Agong Al-Sultan Abdullah Ri’ayatuddin Al-Mustafa Billah Shah at Istana Negara yesterday.

Abdul Hamid said the meeting, which was also attended by Malaysian Armed Forces chief Jen Tan Sri Affendi Buang, was to brief the King on security updates and the latest situation in the country. “Alhamdullilah, in general our country is still peaceful and under control, but the temperature is increasing slightly, ” he said.“Please avoid making any provocative statement. For the public, please stop all forms of speculation that are illogical and can bring harm, ” he said.“It is as if the person knows what is really happening inside the palace, including the number of nominations received, ” he said.

“That is not good, that is within the powers of the King.“How can that person know the exact number of nominations? So, please do not play around with this, ” Abdul Hamid said.Article type: free
