Authorities have identified the man shot and killed outside the Salt Lake City Maverik headquarters on Saturday afternoon.located at 185 South State Street at approximately 12:18 p.m. on October 5.
Upon arriving at the scene, police found Barrows on the ground in the parking lot behind the Maverik, suffering from a gunshot wound. Officers, firefighters, and witnesses — including an ER nurse — provided immediate lifesaving efforts, but Barrows was pronounced dead at the scene. Hassan-Pouri ran from the scene after allegedly shooting Barrows, and bystanders followed Hassan-Pouri to help police locate him, documents said.
