The upcoming Super Mario Galaxy Movie is Illumination's sequel to their 2023 animated video game adaptation The Super Mario Bros. Movie, which grossed more than $1 billion. It will feature the return of iconic characters from Nintendo's Mario games including Mario , Luigi , Princess Peach , Toad , and Bowser .

The sequel sees the cast expanding to include Mario characters Bowser Jr. , Yoshi , and Princess Rosalina . On the official Super Mario Galaxy Movie X account, they have announced that iconic Nintendo character Fox McCloud will also be joining the ensemble. The post, which reads"Let's rock and roll! Fox McCloud joins The Super Mario Galaxy Movie, only in theaters April 1. Get tickets now." includes a character poster featuring the character. See the full-size poster below: This will be the iconic character's first appearance in a movie ever after more than 30 years. McCloud's first game appearance was as the lead of the 1993 Super Nintendo game Star Fox, which followed anthropomorphic animals on a sci-fi adventure. The original game spawned a franchise that now includes seven games and two spinoffs. McCloud is also a major playable character in the Nintendo crossover franchise Super Smash Bros.
