A yellow weather warning for ice has been issued for South East England, with icy conditions expected to cause travel disruptions. The warning follows a period of wintry weather that brought snow to Sussex, Kent, and Surrey, leading to road closures and school closures.
A Met Office yellow weather warning for ice is in place on Thursday. It is due to expire at 10:30 GMT.
Cars were seen strewn by the sides of some roads on Thursday morning after authorities urged people not to travel unless "Some schools were closed on Thursday, including Ticehurst and Flimwell and Netherfield primary schools. Eve from Woodingean said it took more than six hours to get home on Wednesday night, usually a 20-minute journey.
Dr Agostinho Sousa, head of extreme events and health protection at the UKHSA, warned the weather could have a "serious impact" on some people's health, including those aged 65 and over or those with pre-exsiting health conditions.
