Ice Storm Spreads From Texas To Arkansas And Tennessee | Weather.com

For many in the Southern Plains, this ice storm is going to get worse before it gets better. Here's what to expect today:

The final wave of an ice storm will spread from Texas to Arkansas and Tennessee into early Thursday.Expect additional power outages and tree damage in areas of heaviest ice accumulation.to get weekday updates from The Weather Channel and our meteorologists.

Icing in these areas could be heavy enough to cause tree damage and knock out power, and will make most roads hazardous. Those ice accumulations could be on various surfaces like tree limbs, power lines and cars. Elevated roads and bridges will ice first in these areas, but many roads may become icy.T​he areas shown in darkest purple in the map below have the highest chance of more damaging ice accumulations capable of tree damage and power outages.Much of that icing is associated with the final wave of wintry precipitation from Mara that will spread across these areas through Wednesday night.
