The Philadelphia Ice Skating Club and Humane Society released a statement expressing their profound grief over the loss of several beloved members who perished in the midair collision between an American Airlines flight and an Army helicopter near Ronald Reagan Washington National Airport.
The club stated that one of the families lost had recently joined their ranks, while another member had showcased their talent at their 175th Anniversary Gala. Details regarding the identities of the deceased members from the Philadelphia club are yet to be released pending further updates from US Figure Skating.The horrific crash, which claimed at least 28 lives, occurred as the American Airlines flight carrying 60 passengers and four crew members intersected paths with the Black Hawk helicopter carrying three individuals. Authorities confirmed that the collision resulted in an immediate and tragic loss of life, with the bodies recovered from the Potomac River.
