With new life, Garcia doubled home a run. Brandon Marsh then tied the game with a two-run single to right-center., the Phils made it a one-run game when Bryce Harper stroked his first hit of the new season, an RBI single to right. The next hitter, Alec Bohm, popped out to shortstop to end the game. The Phils thought they were getting a break when Texas starter Jacob deGrom was scratched with a stiff neck, but his replacement, lefty Jacob Latz, held the Phils hitless for four-plus innings. The Phils had just one hit, a single by J.T. Realmuto in the fifth, until Bohm stroked a table-setting two-out single in the ninth.
