Boxing prospect Cambell Hatton will face James Flint for the Central Area super lightweight title on Saturday
‘The Hurricane’ did not start with a huge amateur record but did always have a wealth of experience to call upon in the shape of his father, Ricky Hatton, as well as his uncle and trainer, Matthew, who also fought for a world title. This meant that Campbell, 23, was forced to deal with a lot more attention than most novice pros.
“Most of my opponents have had winning records but some of them fancy the job and then when it gets tough they look to survive, whereas this isn’t going to be the case . “These plans are obviously based on staying injury-free and getting the job done but I’d like to pick the Central Area up, have a couple of fights, maybe one abroad,” Hatton said. “I’ve always boxed well abroad when I boxed in Abu Dhabi and Bilbao. I can just concentrate on the fight, rather than the occasion. Hopefully, I could finish the year with an English title around my waist.”
