NRL legend Royce Simmons is walking 1,300 kilometres across central west New South Wales to raise funds for dementia research, and says he will “sign up until” he “can’t walk.”

“Dementia is the biggest killer of women in the world and the second biggest killer of men,” he told Sky News Australia.

“You don’t cope with it too well – I bluff and make out I do, and everything is good, but at the end of the day, you know you’re going to get to the stage where you’re not even going to remember who your wife is, who your children are.”
