These 2020 to 2025 Palisades have faulty side-curtain airbags, and last year the same models were recalled for defective seatbelts.

Hyundai has issued a recall for 568,576 Palisade SUVs because their third-row side-curtain airbags may not properly deploy. The recall population includes Palisades from the 2020 to 2025 model years, the same range affected by a seatbelt-related recall filed last September.

The automaker is still developing a remedy for the defective airbags and will implement the fix for free when it becomes available. Hyundai is recalling 568,576 Palisade SUVs whose third-row side-curtain airbags may not effectively restrain passengers in a crash. According to documents filed with the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration , the recall population covers a set of Palisades from the 2020 through 2025 model years. While not confirmed, the recall population appears to cover the same subset of Palisades that were involved in a seatbelt-related recall last September. The recall documents show that the Palisades' side airbags fail to secure the heads of third-row passengers during a crash. According to the documents, the NHTSA notified Hyundai that a 2025 Palisade failed to keep a safety dummy in the third row from exceeding the movement limit during a routine compliance test. Between April and December 2025, Hyundai and the NHTSA performed several more compliance tests before determining that the third-row side-curtain airbags were defective. The automaker is still developing a fix for the faulty rear airbags. Once a solution becomes available, Hyundai will notify affected owners with instructions to go to their local dealership to have the remedy performed. The automaker will also provide reimbursement for any out-of-pocket expenses incurred by owners to secure the fix. While the remedy isn't available yet, owners who are concerned that their vehicle may be involved can check on the NHTSA site with their vehicle's VIN.
