Hyundai and Kia have issued a recall for more than 208,000 electric vehicles to address a potential issue that can cause a loss of drive power, increasing the risk of a crash. The recall includes Hyundai and Genesis models like the Ioniq 5, Ioniq 6, GV60, GV70, and G80, along with Kia's EV6. The problem stems from a potentially damaged transistor in the charging control unit that can prevent the 12-volt battery from charging properly. Affected car owners will need to take their vehicles to dealerships for inspection, replacement of the control unit and fuse if needed, and software updates.
