WA Premier Mark McGowan is a “hypocrite” for offering opinions on foreign policy in China, despite his office saying such matters are the responsibility of the federal government, says Sky News host Andrew Bolt.

Mr Bolt’s comments come as the Premier was questioned on why he will not raise the issue of jailed Australian journalist Cheng Lei during his trip and was recorded making remarks about Shadow Defence Minister Andrew Hastie.

“Yet, here was McGowan on day one of his tour in China, publicly offering his unsolicited opinions on foreign policy,” he said.
