Hunter Biden is responding to claims made by ex Lunden Roberts about their parenting agreement in new court documents
According to court documents filed on Tuesday, January 27, Biden’s legal team responded to Roberts’ claims that the former first son has allegedly failed to communicate with their 7-year-old child, Navy.
“Any failure to communicate with the Child is not punishable by contempt, as the Order does not order Defendant to communicate with the Child,” Biden’s lawyer, Brent Langdon, wrote in court docs obtained by Us Weekly. Hunter’s legal team also responded to Roberts’ claims that Hunter, 55, didn’t give his daughter pieces of artwork that allegedly plunged in value after President Joe Biden left office. Hunter’s team alleged in the filing that he never agreed to a date by which his paintings had to be turned over to Navy. “Even if no paintings had been given to the Child to date, such would not violate the Order, because as long as thirty paintings are assigned to the Child by Defendant will have complied with the Order,” Langdon wrote. “The court did not order any communication with the Child and did not specify when paintings were to be assigned to the Child.” In the latest legal filing, Hunter’s team also asked the court to dismiss the child support modification. “Since this case’s inception, Plaintiff and/or Plaintiff’s counsel have made many averments merely for the purpose of embarrassing Defendant and making a national spectacle of Defendant’s personal life,” Hunter’s legal team alleged in court documents. Us has reached out to Hunter and Roberts’ attorneys for additional comment on the latest court filing. Earlier this month, Roberts filed court documents and claimed Hunter had “ghosted” their daughter, who allegedly started to realize that she was living a different lifestyle from her half-siblings. Hunter welcomed his first three children Naomi, 32, Finnegan, 23, and Maisy, 22, with ex-wife Kathleen Buhle. He is also a dad of Beau Jr., 6, with his current wife, Melissa Cohen. “It is axiomatic that no one can force Mr. Biden into being a good dad for , but this court can make it so that has, at least, the same level of support as younger half-brother,” Roberts’ lawyer wrote at the time, per court documents obtained by the New York Post. In August 2024, Roberts shared a rare photo with her daughter on social media to celebrate her birthday. “Being your mama is the greatest gift God has given me…& just like every year, I’ll say it again, God knew I needed you and I’ve never been more grateful for His will,” she wrote via Instagram at the time. “I love you more than you will ever know ❣️.”“Our son Hunter and Navy’s mother, Lunden, are working together to foster a relationship that is in the best interests of their daughter, preserving her privacy as much as possible going forward,' Joe said in a statement to People in July 2023. 'This is not a political issue, it’s a family matter. Jill and I only want what is best for all of our grandchildren, including Navy.”
