This statistic does mean, however, that advertisers are intentionally trying to reach us, at almost all hours of the day. As a result, many consumers haveWhether you are perusing YouTube, Instagram or another social media app, you are likely inundated with advertisements. Even music via Spotify or some other app isn’t immune to advertisements; ads are sprinkled through many playlists. Paying to go ad-free isn’t fail-safe either. Some apps and platforms find creative ways to force viewers to see some ads.If you’re trying to reach your audience, the quality of your content matters more than ever. In an era where people are inundated with content, they may be leery of seeing yet another piece of irrelevant content. They may also have little patience for content they cannot quickly grasp. As such, your strategy for reaching and engaging your audience — at a time when people are seeing more content than ever — must be targeted, compelling, friction-free and layered. For example, if you have an email marketing program, it must not only be segmented, meaning it’s targeted to the right audience, but it must also be efficient and direct. Consumers have little patience for lengthy messages. Even when a message is relevant to its audience, key details should be communicated quickly. In other words, put the most important information at the top of the message. This ensures that even if people don’t read the entire message, they’ll get the gist of what you’re communicating.Next, your content must be compelling. Consumers should feel they cannot afford to disregard what you have to say. For instance, your social media content must be scroll-stopping. This means it should be visual, persuasive and interesting. If you do this, your content will be seen over and over again. Additionally, to have an impact, you must remove friction. Make it as easy as possible for people to respond to your message and your call to action. The more steps a person must take to respond to your call to action, the greater the likelihood they will move on to the next thing. Think about Amazon. Amazon customers can quickly peruse, select, purchase and receive their product within a couple days.
