What started as a small preschool has grown to nearly 220 employees across eight campuses that offer everything from one-on-one therapy to education services, adult services, a life skills house, and employment opportunities for adults on the spectrum.

However, when we entered the world of autism, it was considered a relatively rare disorder. As a result, we spent much of Project HOPE Foundation's first decade explaining autism and the critical need for services. We vividly remember the first time we heard the word 'autism' on the television news.
. This is partly due to improved research methods for estimating autism prevalence across the country being much more accurate than historically. "As a home-grown nonprofit, we consider the fact that we are still around after 25 years to be a pretty big accomplishment!" Sachs shares."We are extraordinarily proud of the Project HOPE team of over 200 individuals dedicated to the autism community."
"But some of our biggest accomplishments are those moments that families share with us," Lane said."It's what we call 'extraordinary ordinary moments.' Those moments are when a child looks up in response to his name when a teenager can use a public restroom independently when a family sits down together for an entire meal without a meltdown when a young adult speaks her first sentence. Those moments are the essence of HOPE.
