The December turnover continues for the Dallas Mavericks as the team works its way through roster issues thanks to COVID-19. Dallas center Boban Marjanovic and guard Brandon Knight entered into the NBA’s health and safety protocols on Wednesday,To help fill the void, according to multiple reports, Dallas will sign veteran guard Isaiah Thomas to a 10-day hardship deal.Thomas, who debuted in the NBA a decade ago, was most recently with the Los Angeles Lakers after signing a 10-day hardship contract earlier this month.
Thomas averaged 9.3 points per game in four appearances with the Lakers, making one start. He scored 19 points in his Laker debut on Dec. 17 in a loss to Minnesota.Forward Reggie Bullock, who landed on the team’s list of players in the NBA’s health and safety protocol on Dec. 18, was not listed in the protocol on Tuesday.
Bullock was the first of seven Dallas players to enter the protocol before Wednesday during the NBA’s recent surge of COVID-19 cases, and becomes the second to return. Guard Josh Green, who entered the protocol a day after Bullock on Dec. 19, cleared protocol on Christmas.
