Richardson's Core District is attracting restaurants from areas like Deep Ellum and downtown Dallas.

The city of Richardson's Core District is made up of five subdistricts bound by Arapaho Road to the north and Phillip Street to the south. Part of the revitalization strategy is ensuring the city is easy and efficient for business owners to work with, Magner said. This was a draw for Dino Santonicola who, with his wife and business partner Megan Santonicola, picked Richardson’s Core District as the spot for the second location of their downtown Dallas restaurant Partenope Ristorante.
Bureaucracy aside, Santonicola wanted to open a restaurant in Richardson to contribute to the city’s social fabric and create a gathering place in the downtown area that families like his can walk to from surrounding neighborhoods. The Richardson location of Partenope is set to open in a newly renovated building near longtime burger joint Del’s Charcoal Burgers at the corner of East Polk Street and South Greenville Avenue by the end of summer.
Restaurants and bars are eager to move to Richardson’s downtown now that improvements to Main Street are completed, he said. His company is working with two bars and a large patio restaurant that will open later this year or early next year along the updated street.
