"A parent's right to know " bill goes into affect in the 2024-2025 school year) - With school right around the corner, teachers are prepping their classrooms for the new school year. But this year, one more thing is on their mind and that is the “Parental Right to Know” bill.and it requires teachers in Alabama to post their curriculums to give parents more insight into what their kids are being taught.
But does a right to know, mean a right to question your child’s teacher? Hamlin hopes this does not make teaching harder than it already is. Jessie Underwood, a fourth-grade teacher at L.E. Willson Elementary School in Sheffield is one of those educators Hamlin is talking about. Underwood says parents reaching out to her about her curriculum is nothing new.
