First, he skirted away from a sideline trap on the left wing, swerved back toward the free-throw line and flipped a pass to forward Brock Cunningham for a wide-open three. That gave Texas a 63-58 lead with 67 seconds to go.
“Coach challenged us ,” Carr said. “It was something that I definitely took a bit personal. But all credit to him. He’s a great coach, and he knows how to get that out of us. The improved second-half decision-making on display against Texas Tech was the continuation of a positive trend.
