Discover the revolutionary drone technology developed by Granta Autonomy and its applications in modern warfare.
From jamming-resistant drones to battlefield-tested innovations, Gediminas Guoba of Granta Autonomy shares how Lithuania is shaping the future of warfare., a leading expert in drone technology from Lithuania and CEO of Granta Autonomy. We explore how Granta Autonomy drones are revolutionizing modern warfare, delving into their development, applications, and the ethical considerations they entail.
“We proved their effectiveness against Russian jammers on the frontlines in Ukraine,” he explained. This capability stems from a decade of research into Russian electronic warfare systems, enabling Granta Autonomy to stay one step ahead. “Testing in real combat environments, with continuous bombing, jamming, and spoofing, allowed us to develop products that perform in the harshest conditions,” he said. This hands-on experience led to the widespread adoption of drones by the Ukrainian military.
These advancements have pushed the boundaries of what drones can achieve. “Ukrainian innovations have doubled the range of drones in just two years,” Gediminas said. “In 2022, 30 kilometers was impressive. We’re talking about 70, 80, or even 90 kilometers,” he told us. The implications extend beyond Ukraine. “For Lithuania and other Baltic states, this is a wake-up call,” Gediminas noted. “We’re just 24 hours away from the frontlines, so we need to be prepared,” he added.
Gediminas sees drones playing an even more significant role in military operations. “At some point, human soldiers may become obsolete on the battlefield,” he predicted. “But you still need boots on the ground to hold territory,” he said.
