Indian-controlled Kashmir’s regional legislature has passed a resolution demanding the federal government restore the disputed region’s semi-autonomy. Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s Bharatiya Janata Party, which is in a minority in the local assembly, voted against the nonbinding resolution.
