How Daenerys solved her dead dragon problem in GameofThrones Season 8, episode 5

At the end of the fourth episode of Game of Thrones Season 8, “The Last of the Starks,” Daenerys Targaryen and her Hand Tyrion Lannister threatened Queen Cersei with fiery destruction. But while three dragons burning King’s Landing to the ground may have been a realistic threat when Daenerys first invaded the shores of Westeros, her tactical position has changed substantially since.

Game of Thrones Season 8 Episode 5 has the answer: she'll just do it. No dragon armor built by Gendry, no distraction tactics or wiping out the Iron Fleet before swooping in with Drogon. Unlike the other two dragons, Drogon is unstoppable. Within minutes of attacking King's Landing, Daenerys wiped out the Iron Fleet and all the scorpions lining the walls of King's Landing. Euron barely got a shot off.

Daenerys’ dragon assault on King’s Landing is the greatest display of Drogon’s power yet, mirroring another Targaryen dragon assault: Aegon’s Conquest. When Daenerys’ ancestors first invaded Westeros, they too had three dragons, with which they laid waste.
