Game of Thrones just negated a huge season 7 plotline with the conclusion of the Battle of Winterfell. Why did that storyline happen at all?
, The Long Night. There were not all that many twists and turns other than the final reveal of who got to kill the Night King, not Jon with Longclaw or Dany with her dragons, but Arya from downtown with the Bran Blade of Doom.
I’m talking about this elaborate master plan to go north of the wall, capture a live wight, and then bring it to Cersei’s doorstep in order to convince her that the threat was real and they all needed to band together to take on the Night King and his forces.Look, I understand that obviously Cersei was going to have ulterior motives when it came to this entire conflict, but the way this played out didn’t make any sense.
