A recent HOA-organized heavy trash day event at a Lake Conroe-area neighborhood led to nearly 7 tons of debris dumped in another nearby subdivision under construction, allegedly by a Houston man who has now been charged with a felony.

The developer of Town Creek Crossing, K. Hovnanian Homes, called the Montgomery Police Department on Feb. 22, 2022

The investigating police officer viewed photos taken of the trash, which included personal mail belonging to residents in Lake Conroe Village. After visiting with one resident, the officer learned the homeowner’s association had hosted a heavy trash day Feb. 19, 2022, documents show. Spectrum hired a third party to remove the leftover trash, and that third party subcontracted Deverek Divantwun Wade, 34, for the job.

Using cell phone records and the assistance of the Montgomery County Precinct 2 Constable’s Office, the officer was able to show Wade in the area of the dumpsite the day of the incident.
