Houston-area high school baseball rankings: Magnolia West enters top 10
Surging Magnolia West has moved into the top 10 in this week's rankings after knocking off Lake Creek last week.The Houston Chronicle’s weekly area high school baseball power rankings. Rankings are based on overall and recent performances, quality wins, strength of schedule and team accomplishments.The Wildcats extended their win streak to seven games after an 11-0 shutout victory over Cypress Falls in District 16-6A play.
The Oilers have outscored their opponents 77-10 during the streak.The Panthers completed a series sweep of Bush and Hightower to remain perfect in District 20-6A. The Panthers crushed the Broncos 17-3 to start the week and shut out the Hurricanes 10-0 for their 11th consecutive win. The Panthers have outscored their opponents 110-13 during the streak.The Lions suffered a 4-1 loss against state-ranked Magnolia West in District 21-5A play.
