Houston Academy won its sixth game of the year by more than 40 points on Friday night, routing Beulah 62-13 in a Class 3A first-round state playoff games.

Raiders' wide receiver Houston Lee, who made a spectacular touchdown catch between two defenders in Friday’s game, echoed a similar sentiment. However, on 3rd-and-4, Mitchell tried to force a pass toward the end zone, but Beulah’s Hunter Duval intercepted the pass and returned it out to the 30-yard line.
It started with Mitchell firing a slant pass to his left to Gabe Glover, the Raiders’ senior sensation wide receiver who caught it in open space and made the defender miss with a nice move to get behind him. He then raced down the field to complete an 80-yard touchdown pass. Riggs Hickey converted the extra point kick to make it 7-0 HA.
The fourth score came when Mitchell fired a 42-yard pass downfield to Lee, who leaped up and caught the pass between two defenders for a touchdown. The Raiders continued their explosiveness in the third quarter. Hickey took the kickoff 80 yards to the Bobcat 13. Two plays later, Mitchell fired to Thomas Buntin on a low slant pass to the left that Buntin went to his knees to catch for a 4-yard TD pass as HA made it 47-6.
