PETALING JAYA: Shuttlers Jacky Kok Jing Hong, Wan Arif Wan Junaidi and Mohd Haikal Nazri continued their fine run to reach the semi-finals at the German Junior Open in Berlin.
The third seeded Jacky was in his element as he brushed aside French opponent Yanis Gaudin 21-6,21-13 yesterday to set up a last-four clash against Denmark’s 14th seed Magnus Johannesen.
Malaysia can also count on Justin Hoh to deliver as the 13th seed upset fourth seed Mads Juel Moller of Denmark 19-21,21-17,21-12 to set up a match against unseeded Indonesian Alvi Wijaya Chairullah.In the boys’ doubles competition, Wan Arif Wan Junaidi-Mohd Haikal Nazri showed no signs of slowing down as they powered past Thailand’s Narut Saengkham-Pannawat Theerapanitnun 21-13,21-17 to reach the semis.
