Padres prospects Jakob Marsee, Nathan Martorella pulled off field in Arkansas amid Luis Arraez trade rumors
Two long balls were not nearly enough to outrun a tough day on the mound at Triple-A El Paso. That’s because Sugar Land combined for five homers off Chihuahuas pitching, including four surrendered by Nolan Watson in a 9-6 loss on Friday. Watson allowed five runs on six hits and two walks and right-handers Bobby Milacki and Kevin Kopps both allowed two runs over the next three innings.
Missions 4, Arkansas 3 : LHP Robby Snelling allowed three runs — two earned — in 5⅔ innings in the win. He struck out four and allowed eight hits and three walks. LHP Omar Cruz struck out three over 1⅓ scoreless innings in his second save. LF Cole Cummings drove in two runs on two hits, including his second homer. 2B Ray-Patrick Didder doubled twice. DH Brandon Valenzuela went 1-for-3 with a double and two RBIs.
Lake County 6, TinCaps 4: RHP Henry Baez allowed five runs in five innings in the loss. C Anthony Vilar went 3-for-4 with his first homer, a double and four RBIs. RF Kai Murphy went 2-for-4 with a double and a walk. LOW SINGLE-A LAKE ELSINORE San Jose 4, Storm 3 : DH Rosman Verdugo went 2-for-5 and drove in two runs on his third homer. 3B Jay Beshears and 1B Romeo Sanabria both had two hits. RHP Eric Yost allowed two runs in six innings in the start.
