Ray-Patrick Didder homers twice in Double-A San Antonio's laugher at Amarillo
Nathan Martorella homered and reached based five times and Ray-Patrick Didder drove in six runs on two homers, leading Double-A San Antonio to an 18-5 win at Amarillo on Saturday. Martorella also doubled, drove in three runs and walked three times as Missions hitters drew 14 walks as a team. Jakob Marsee went 1-for-5 with a double, but walked he twice and stole three bases. Zach Reks hit a grand slam. One of Didder’s home runs was a grand slam, as well.
Chihuahuas 7, Round Rock 2: LHP Jackson Wolf allowed two runs in 2⅓ innings in his return to the Padres organization. RHP Lake Bachar followed with 2⅔ scoreless innings for the win. 3B Clay Dungan went 1-for-4 with a double, three RBIs and a walk. LF Cal Mitchell went 2-for-5 with a double and two runs scored. SS Mason McCoy went 1-for-2 with two walks and three steals.
Great Lakes 5, TinCaps 4: DH Ethan Salas went 2-for-5 with two RBIs and LF Kai Murphy hit his first homer. CF Homer Bush Jr. and 1B Griffin Doersching both had two hits. RHP Sam Whiting struck out five over 2⅔ shutout innings in the start. RHP Will Geerdes allowed two runs in 2⅓ innings in the loss. LOW SINGLE-A LAKE ELSINORE Storm 7, Rancho Cucamonga 5: RHP Bradgley Rodriguez struck out two over 1⅓ scoreless innings for the save.
