‘Holy hour’ set for PH churches to pray for peace

The Archdiocese of Manila on Monday asked churches across the country for a “holy hour” to pray for peace in the Holy Land.

The circular said the order is in accordance with the call of Latin Patriarch of Jerusalem Pierbattista Cardinal Pizzaballa for prayer and fasting for peace in the Holy Land. Pope Francis on Sunday called for humanitarian corridors to allow the delivery of essentials to the Gaza Strip, which is under heavy Israeli bombardment following a bloody attack by its rulers, Hamas.

“I strongly urge that children, the sick, the elderly, women and all civilians should not fall victim to the conflict,” he added.
