Published: Oct. 04, 2024, 10:34 p.m.Walsh Jesuit senior quarterback Keller Moten had felt the pressure all week leading up to Friday night’s home game against rival Archbishop Hoban.
“I just really appreciate the trust that he has in me,” Moten said. “He knows I’m a playmaker and I like the ball whenever, wherever, and I know I’m going to make a play.” “We have 48-minute guys, guys that don’t leave the field and Aiden Henry’s one of them,” Alexander said. “He’s a true 48-minute warrior. I’m so proud of that kid. He got a preferred walk-on to Central Michigan this week. Got his tail wagging a little bit. He is a one hell of a football player, and you win with guys like Aiden.”
“Keller Moten should be up for Mr. Ohio,” Alexander said. “I’m going to go out on the record and say that. He’s leading an undefeated football team against a top-10 toughest schedule in the state. I’m just so proud of him. I love him to death.” Then after forcing a punt, Hoban went 80 yards on seven plays and scored to take a 14-13 lead on a 24-yard touchdown pass from Hayden to Brayton Feister.
The win for Walsh snapped an 11-game losing to Hoban, including a pair of games last season – a 57-7 loss in the regular season and a 30-6 loss in the regional final. That made this game mean something extra for the Warriors.
