The Warriors honored Mike Vrabel by retiring his jersey and having their way in a resounding win over St. Ignatius Friday at home.
CUYAHOGA FALLS, Ohio -- Daniel Chalhoub found Marcus Tekancic on a 29-yard TD pass in the first quarter, and for a moment St. Ignatius hushed a rowdy Walsh Jesuit home crowd Friday night at Conway Memorial Stadium.
The Warriors have made the Division II regional final in two of the last three seasons, and are looking forward to another deep playoff run this fall.Walsh tied the score up with a 69-yard TD pass from Keller Moten to Milan Parris with 5:28 left in the opening quarter.The Warriors came up with a much needed goal line stand when play resumed, and ended the Wildcat drive with a blocked field goal attempt to keep score tied at seven.
Then, with 10 seconds remaining in the first half, Moten found Parris on a 24-yard completion to the right corner of the end zone, giving the Warriors a commanding 28-7 lead going into halftime.
