A historian claims to have identified the infamous Jack the Ripper serial killer as Aaron Kosminski, a Polish immigrant living in London during the time of the murders. Evidence includes DNA analysis of a blood-soaked shawl and a possible connection to the Freemasons.
A historian claims to have finally identified the infamous serial killer known as Jack the Ripper. Russell Edwards, a historian and author of two books dedicated to the infamous case, revealed his alleged identity in an interview with 'Today' in Australia. According to Edwards, the killer was Aaron Kosminski, a Polish immigrant who moved to London and worked as a barber. Kosminski was 23 at the time of the murders and had long been considered a prime suspect.
He was institutionalized for the last 28 years of his life due to schizophrenia.Edwards's claim rests on a blood-soaked shawl purportedly left at one of the crime scenes. Purchased by Edwards years ago, the shawl underwent DNA testing which revealed traces of semen linked to a relative of Kosminski's sister. While this evidence was initially met with skepticism from geneticists due to a lack of technical details regarding the analysis, it was later strengthened by a DNA sample from Kosminski's oldest brother's great-great-granddaughter. Edwards further asserts that his research connects Kosminski to the highly secretive Freemasons, suggesting a possible motive for the horrific murders and a potential shield from law enforcement. The Jack the Ripper murders, which shook the world in 1888, saw five women brutally killed in the impoverished Whitechapel district of London within a nine-week period. The victims, Mary Ann Nichols, Annie Chapman, Elizabeth Stride, Catherine Eddowes, and Mary Jane Kelly, all suffered from slit throats, post-mortem injuries, and in some cases, the removal of body parts. The case remains one of history's most infamous unsolved mysteries, inspiring countless theories, books, and films. Now, nearly 120 years after the crimes, Edwards and some of the victims' descendants are seeking a legal inquest in Britain's High Court to officially name Kosminski as the killer. Karen Miller, the great-great-great-granddaughter of victim Eddowes, believes that having the killer's name officially recognized would finally bring justice to the victims who were denied it so long ago
