FireEnergy Corp. reported that about 10,500 people were without power across the state at 9 a.m. Sunday. Some power lines were knocked down across the area, including in Rocky River. The National Weather Service in Cleveland reported that showers and thunderstorms are expected later Sunday, with some storms turning severe at times. The harsh weather will move through ahead of a cold snap.The agency said the harshest wind and rain are expected in eastern Ohio, along the Interstate 77 corridor, from Cleveland south to Parkersburg, West Virginia. Gusts of up to 45 mph were to hit Cleveland early today, the agency forecasted. By noon, those winds were to reach nearly 60 mph in Erie, Pennsylvania.The temperatures of 60 degrees today in Cleveland are expected to drop to 40 by Monday and then rebound to the mid-to-high 60s on Tuesday and Wednesday.
