The high school volleyball season opened with plenty of action on Thursday night.
DAVID MUNDEE It was a season-opener thriller at the Providence Christian gym on Thursday night as Rehobeth edged the host Eagles in a five-set classic, 25-27, 25-18, 25-19, 24-26, 15-12.
People are also reading… Also for PCS, Hadley Wade had four kills, three digs and two aces, Elizabeth Ann Ingram had three kills and Selah Kuwahara had two kills plus a solo block. Amiyah Lewis had a big night for Ashford, smashing down 36 kills and seven aces. AB Morris delivered 32 assists and four aces, while Carsyn McArdle had 11 aces and three kills. Ella Helms earned seven aces, 32 digs and two kills, while Kayla Fields had eight kills and three blocks. Jalissiah Jackson added four blocks and LB Ingalls chipped in 16 digs.
For Ariton, Sarah Turvey had seven kills and Audrey Ezell and Nya Allen both had six kills. Madison Guilford followed with five kills and also had three blocks.
