Bombshell text messages between Brittany Higgins and boyfriend David Sharaz showed they planned to enlist the help of senior Labor MPs to bolster her rape claim, with the couple also making crude remarks about then-prime minister Scott Morrison.
Ms Higgins had alleged the ex-Liberal staffer sexually assaulted her in Senator Linda Reynolds' office on March 23, 2019, after a night out in Canberra.
Prime Minister Anthony Albanese, Environment Minister Tanya Plibersek and Finance Minister have all denied this week they had been tipped off to the story. "I gave her the Project interview for context. I hope that's okay? She's not doing anything with it. But I'm also happy to step out and let her talk to you if you want. Basically, I wanted her to get all the context because it's so complicated."Ms Gallagher has previously denied the claim she knew about the former Liberal staffer's rape claim prior to her interview with Wilkinson being aired.
"Friday 9am with Albo locked in at CPO. Details to come," he said in a text, before writing a separate message confirming Ms Plibersek would also be there.
