Lisa Wilkinson has denied she approached Labor politicians about raising Brittany Higgins’ rape allegations during Question Time, following leaked audio which surfaced during Seven’s bombshell interview with Bruce Lehrmann.

Seven’s bombshell one-on-one with Bruce Lehrmann on Sunday night exposed a lengthy audio recording between Ms Wilkinson, her producer Angus Llewellyn, Ms Higgins, and her partner David Sharaz.

Mr Sharaz could be heard saying that he had a “friend in Labor” and Senator Katy Gallagher “will probe and continue it going”. The now-Environment Minister has since knocked back claims she would be coached by other people to ask questions in parliament. “I don’t recall anything like that. She was a very fragile and upset young woman. That’s my involvement.”

“Paragraph 3.2 of the Legal Services Directions provide that significant claims against the Commonwealth may not be settled without the agreement of the Attorney General,” Ms Gallagher’s office said.
