With temps hitting the triple digits consistently this month, you may be looking forward to the first cold front. Here's when it could happen.

It’s really hot in South Texas . So far this August, the average high temperature in San Antonio has been 99.5 degrees, and we’re currently in a streak of seven consecutive days with triple-digit high temps. We could absolutely use a break from the heat. While South Texas has had a few weak cold fronts move through over the course of the summer, it’s been several months since we’ve had some actual chilly air move into the region.

Temps will rise steadily throughout the morning, reaching 90 degrees by around 11 a.m. During the afternoon, a few high clouds will move into the region, but plenty of sunshine is still expected. High temperatures are likely to reach 100 to 101 degrees in the San Antonio metro area by 4 to 5 p.m., becoming the eighth day in a row with highs of at least 100 degrees. Heat index values will be slightly higher, topping out near 105 degrees.
