More than 10 inches of snow has fallen from eastern Pennsylvania to Connecticut.

Late Tuesday afternoon, the steadiest snow was exiting New England to the east of Cape Cod. Winds, gusting over 50 mph on Nantucket, are likely to cause blowing and drifting snow into the evening, even after the flakes stop falling.

From Washington to near Philadelphia, the snow concluded by late morning, before ending in New York City in the early afternoon; 3.2 inches were reported in Central Park. Around Boston, where up to 12 inches was forecast as of Monday, the storm barely got started, only dropping a coating to an inch or so before winding down midafternoon. Here’s what’s ahead:
