‘Heartbreaking’: Bexar County Sheriff Salazar says woman killed in domestic violence shooting, and suspect found shot dead in his home

The deputies were able to identify a suspect, a 42-year-old man who had been “romantically involved” with the woman, Salazar said. He said he wasn’t sure of the exact nature of the relationship but that it was in the process of ending. Deputies went to the man’s residence, in the 4800 block of Camas in a Northeast Side subdivision. They saw a vehicle matching the description of the one seen leaving the woman’s home at the Camas residence, Salazar said.
The sheriff said deputies watched the residence until SWAT arrived on the scene. Negotiators attempted to establish communications with the man for about two hours through loudspeakers, but received no response, Salazar said.
