PETALING JAYA: The visiting hours and the number of visitors allowed at public hospitals remains the same as during the movement control order (MCO) period, says the Health Ministry.
Its director-general Datuk Dr Noor Hisham Abdullah said visitors are only allowed at wards for emergency cases, critical cases and in cases where it is absolutely necessary.
“The visiting hours are also shortened according to what is set by individual hospitals. For clinical appointments, only one companion is allowed except for child patients or patients who need help or emergency cases, ” he said in a statement on Wednesday .“It is important that we protect patients and medical staff from getting infected by the Covid-19 virus.
“Besides that, it can also reduce the congestion at hospitals, and ensure that social distancing can be adhered to at hospitals, ” he said.
