A forgotten MCU hero is back.
Warning: contains a preview for Marvel Unleashed #1!Marvel’s most underrated cosmic hero finally gets the respect he so rightfully deserves, as a forgotten MCU titan returns. The cosmic side of the Marvel Universe is chock-full of powerful characters, including cosmic beings capable of altering reality. However, there is one unlikely cosmic hero who never receives recognition, but in a preview for Marvel Unleashed #1, he finally gets his due as one of Marvel’s most powerful characters.
SCREENRANT VIDEO OF THE DAY SCROLL TO CONTINUE WITH CONTENT Marvel Unleashed #1 is written by Kyle Starks, drawn by Jesus Hervas, colored by Yen Nitro and lettered by Joe Caramagna. The preview opens on a scenic day in New York City. Lockjaw, the Inhumans' dog, sleeps peacefully in the park. An unnamed narrator talks about the dog, praising his strength and ability to teleport across vast distances effortlessly.
Lockjaw Leads the Charge in Marvel Unleashed Introduced to MCU canon in the much-maligned Inhumans, Lockjaw has most recently been seen as an ally of Thor, helping to defeat his evil 'brother' Donald Blake. Lockjaw is a member of the Inhuman Royal Family - the result of experiments on Earth dogs - and was born with the ability to teleport pretty much without restriction, able to zap across the multiverse as easily as he can move from one country to the next.
Lockjaw's Power Level Is Constantly Underestimated Many fans may scoff at Lockjaw being one of Marvel’s most powerful characters but as seen in this preview, he deserves to be discussed in the same breath as Fantastic Four's Thing or X-Men's Colossus. Fans may write Lockjaw off simply because he is a dog, but the Marvel Universe is a huge world with many different types of hero, and this preview makes it clear how powerful he is.
The preview for Marvel Unleashed does not reveal if Kraven has an ulterior motive for wanting Lockjaw, however fans know the series will include some of Marvel's biggest cosmic threats - Marvel villains who make Kraven look like an afterthought. Only with Lockjaw by their side do the Pet Avengers stand a chance - he may have been forgotten by the MCU, but Marvel's comics are making sure Lockjaw gets credit as a powerhouse hero.
