Union City police were seeking the person who shot a Hayward man in their city Sunday evening.
UNION CITY — A 32-year-old Hayward man was shot here Sunday evening and a suspect was being sought, authorities said.
The man was in stable condition at a hospital with injuries that were not considered life-threatening, authorities said. The shooting was reported about 6:30 p.m. Sunday near the 33000 block of Calistoga Street, a primarily residential area. Officers responded to the location and recovered evidence of a shooting but did not find a victim. The man had gotten his own transportation to a hospital, where officers contacted him.
Police did not say why the man was in Union City.
