HAYS COUNTY, Texas - Tuesday was the first day of school for students at Hays Consolidated School District.
That is why a seatbelt encouragement campaign is kicking into gear this school year, to remind students that wearing your seatbelt is important.Tim Savoy, chief communication officer at Hays CISD. "We’re also doing it to hopefully help our parents get the message to help us reinforce that." The district is being proactive, placing seatbelt cutters on every bus in case of a crash that involves seatbelts needing to be cut off.
