When the bus was hit by a cement truck at highway speed, none of the 44 children and eleven adult passengers on the bus was wearing seat belts. And this will cost money. On the school board agenda today is the purchase of 30 new seat belt-equipped buses. They run about $158,000 apiece so the total cost will be over $4.7 million.
