THE PINE TREE STATE – Everybody knows that cats can climb trees. But it's incredible to see how fast the lynx scrambles up the tree in this video. What's driving the cat to climb so quickly? The allure of a delicious fisher for lunch.
The fisher is a sleek, dark-furred mammal from the weasel family. It primarily lives in North American forests. Despite the name, fishers don't actually catch fish. They hunt small mammals, birds and insects. Sometimes, they'll even go after porcupines.Like most of their weasel cousins, fishers have long bodies and short legs. Their sharp claws help them climb trees and move quickly through dense woodland. You can see these climbing abilities on display in this video: Unfortunately, the pursuing predator also has incredible skills. Here's how the user who uploaded the video described the scene:"We got some amazing footage of this pair of Canadian lynx courting during mating season. But even cooler is this footage of this fisher falling out of the tree and being pursued by these cats. The speed and agility up these straight trunks is insane."Indeed, it's awesome to see that determined lynx fly up the pine tree. And it's funny to see the other lynx coming strolling into the footage like it doesn't have a care in the world.Have You Seen This? No one gets left behind Amid Hawaii's worst flooding since 43 days of rain in 2006, the aloha spirit still prevailed as one woman took it upon herself to rescue stranded dogs on Oahu's North Shore.
