Harrison Bader found out where he's headed just before the start of the Yankees-Tigers' game on Thursday in Detroit.
The last to arrive was Harrison Bader, who walked wearing stiffy sunglasses and a Detroit Red Wings cap while pulling a small suitcase.Bader chatted it up with reporter fishing for information, did an interview with Suzyn Waldman for Yankees radio, another with Meredith Marakovits for TV and then hung around with Yankees player for a couple more hours.
The Yankees were his team as a kid when he was living 10 miles north of the Bronx in Bronxville. He appreciates the history of the franchise. That power surge fueled added excitement that Bader would make a great impact this season with his bat and glove. He had his moments, but Bader missed the Yankees’ first 30 games after straining his left oblique in spring training and was on the injured list for 16 games from May 30 to June 18 with a right hamstring strain.
