KENINGAU: Pengiktirafan Hari Sabah mengekalkan identiti Sabah sebagai antara salah satu negara yang pernah mempunyai kerajaan sendiri pada 31 Ogos 1963 dan seterusnya bergabung membentuk Persekutuan Malaysia pada 16 September 1963.
Timbalan Menteri Sains, Teknologi dan Inovasi Datuk Arthur Joseph Kurup berkata, Hari Sabah yang disambut setiap tahun pada 31 Ogos mampu mengekalkan jati diri Sabah dan diketahui oleh seluruh rakyat di negara ini mengenai sejarah pembentukan Persekutuan Malaysia.Katanya, usaha ini dapat difahami dan mengekalkan kuasa autonomi negeri ini selaras dengan Perjanjian Malaysia 1963 dan Perlembagaan Persekutuan Malaysia.
