Over half of people who need a new passport are opting to fast track their application, a move that could set families back an extra £500 this summer 🔴 gracegausden93 reports
A family of four, inclusive of two adults and two children, would have to pay £367 more than normal if they needed to fast-track their applications.
This nearly doubles when having to fast-track an application through the online premium service which costs £193.50 per person, £387 for the two adults plus £252 for the two children, who are unable to use the two-day service. This brings the total cost to £639. Ryan Fulthorpe, Go Compare’s travel spokesperson, said: “The number of people opting to fast-track their application is significant, which just goes to show how the reported delays are impacting people’s confidence in the standard process.”
